OpenAI announced GPT-Image-2.6 on November 5, 2026, offering two API models: Flare for quick iteration and Sunburst for higher‑quality compositions.
Both models accept text and image inputs and can return images, GIFs and SVG files. Flare can produce a low‑quality image in as little as six seconds.
